I merely wanted to inform the Tampa Bay area that Temple Terrace is not part of Tampa, we are one of three incorporated communties in Hillsborough County, incorporated in 1925.  The city was planned as a 1920s Mediterranean Revival golf course planned community and was one of the first such planned communities in the U.S.  The original community was planned with 5000 acres of Temple orange groves (hence the “Temple” in Temple Terrace) and it was the largest grove in the world in 1923.  Temple Terrace was the first place in the U.S. that the new hybrid Temple oranges were planted.
